With the next series of popular ITV dating show Love Island set to return to our screens next Monday 28 June, information about the singletons have started rolling in.

One contestant in particular has stood out amongst the rest as Aaron Francis confessed he has an unlikely link to the royal family.

The 24 year old explained during his Q&A session ahead of the 2021 series that he worked at both Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018 and her sister Princess Beatrice's nuptials to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi last year.

Besides being a model who is already signed to a talent agency, the soon-to-be reality star works in luxury events, hosting a range of different high-profile occasions.

"Yeah, [I worked at] Eugenie and Beatrice’s [wedding] over the summer," he said. "I hosted and chatted. It was nice and intimate."

Hosting the likes of the royals didn't faze him though as he went on: "Everyone’s chill.

"In my job you meet a lot of famous people… Unless you’re Beyoncé, I’m not really interested."

Aaron went on to explain why he decided to apply to be on Love Island as he said: "I’ve been single for about six or seven months and the dating world at the moment is a little bit off."

When asked what kind of relationship he's looking for, he explained that he's after something long-lasting and not interested in people who "live for the weekend".

Aaron is the second person to be confirmed to be entering the villa in one week alongside a range of other singles looking to win the £50,000 prize and find love.

The programme has been trickling details about the other contestants throughout the day as Aaron will be joined by engineer Jake Cornish, former glamour model Shannon Singh, PE teacher Hugo Hammond, waitress Liberty Poole and beauty pageant queen Sharon Gaffka.

Sharon was the first person to be announced for the show as the Love Island Instagram page said she has conquered beauty pageants, worked on government policies and is now ready to take on the villa.

The gorgeous star has said that she won't be having sex on TV in the new series, insisting that she won't follow in the footsteps of former Love Island star Zara Holland – who was stripped of her Miss GB title after having sex on the show.
