Mission Mangal set to CRUSH biggies like Race 3, Baaghi 2 and Dabangg 2 at the box office – here’s how | Bollywood Life

Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer Mission Mangal is enjoying a phenomenal run at the ticket windows. The space drama, which is made on the budget of Rs 32 crore grossed over Rs 247 crore at the global box office. The film has 2 days in its hands since Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor’s Saaho is arriving this Friday, post that Mission Mangal will face a huge crunch at the ticket windows. Though we are expecting the film to retain a decent amount of screens in its third week If the film continues its steady run in the coming days, it will beat the global collections of biggies like Baaghi 2 (Rs 249 crore), Dabangg 2 (Rs 258 crore) and Race 3 (Rs 265 crore) at the box office, which indeed will be a milestone for this venture.

Mission Mangal marks the directorial debut of Jagan Shakti. Talking about his struggling days, the filmmaker recent said, “I really slogged hard in the industry. Irrespective of many chances of me being able to direct and not able to direct stuff, I waited for the right script. I think hard work really pays some day. Coming to Mumbai from Bengaluru, where I had a comfortable life, and travelling in local trains. Survival of the fittest happens every day in Mumbai. Mumbai told me many times ‘to go back’ but I prevailed.” Before Mission Mangal, Jagan worked as an assistant director in films such as Padman, Holiday, Dear Zindagi, Ki & Ka and Shamitabh.

Mission Mangal also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen and Sharman Joshi. The film, which opened on August 15, recreates the event around the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) of November 2013. Anyway, have you liked the film?
