Prince Harry Accuses Royal Family Of 'Withholding' Phone Hacking Info From Him During Associated Newspapers Court Case!

Prince Harry is putting his family on blast IN COURT!

The Duke of Sussex is in London for a legal case in which he and several other prominent figures are suing Associated Newspapers Ltd, the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, for illegal information gathering between 1993 and 2018. One claim is that the organization secretly recorded private telephone calls and bugged cars and homes with the help of private investigators. Very shady stuff, but it gets worse!

After making a surprise appearance in his hometown on Monday, the 38-year-old returned to the courtroom on Tuesday with a witness statement. In it, he claimed he became aware of a similar phone hacking situation that the royal family reportedly KNEW about but kept a secret from him!

According to People, Harry began by recalling the death of his mother Princess Diana, saying:

“Following the death of my mother in 1997 when I was 12 years old and her treatment at the hands of the press, I have always had an uneasy relationship with the press. However, as a member of the Institution the policy was to ‘never complain, never explain.’ There was no alternative; I was conditioned to accept it. For the most part, I accepted the interest in my performing my public functions.”

Everything changed when he met Meghan Markle, who became the target of brutal and racist attacks from the British media, causing him to become “increasingly troubled by the approach of not taking action against the press in the wake of vicious persistent attacks on, harassment of and intrusive, sometimes racist articles concerning Meghan.” Unfortunately, “the situation got worse” when they welcomed their first child Archie in 2019.

According to the Archewell founder, he became aware of a claim he could bring against News Group Newspapers (publisher of The Sun) concerning phone hacking in 2018. He explained:

“The Institution was without a doubt withholding information from me for a long time about NGN’s phone hacking and that has only become clear in recent years as I have pursued my own claim with different legal advice and representation.”

Damn…

Why wouldn’t they tell him something like this?! We know they’ve been feuding for a while, but this seems like important info for a prince to know! We guess he’s implying his family has been in on this the whole time, knowing full well he wouldn’t like it?

Over the last few years, the father of two has only learned more and more troubling details about how the press has been unlawfully gathering information about him and his family, Harry noted:

“It is not an exaggeration to say that the bubble burst in terms of what I knew in 2020 when I moved out of the United Kingdom.”

The Invictus Games founder went on to say he is unsure if other family or friends have come forward about witnessing this alleged illegal activity:

“To this day, there are members of the Royal Family and friends of mine who may have been targeted by NGN and I have no idea whether they have or have not brought claims. There was never any centralised discussion between us about who had brought claims as each office in the Institution is siloed. There is this misconception that we are all in constant communication with one another but that is not true.”

While he is obviously concerned about his own privacy, Harry insisted this latest lawsuit against Associated Newspapers is “not just about me,” adding:

“I am bringing this claim because I love my country and I remain deeply concerned by the unchecked power, influence and criminality of Associated. The evidence I have seen shows that Associated’s journalists are criminals with journalistic powers which should concern every single one of us. The British public deserve to know the full extent of this cover up and I feel it is my duty to expose it.”

Fighting the UK media has been one of Harry’s main objectives ever since leaving the royal family. With this lawsuit, he not only gets to hit back at the press but his family too!

Elton John, the singer’s husband David Furnish, Elizabeth Hurley, Parliament member Doreen Lawrence, Sir Simon Hughes, and Jude Law‘s ex-wife Sadie Frost are among the others involved in the case. After a four-day hearing, a judge is expected to decide whether the case should go to trial. Associated Newspapers has denied the allegations and is asking for the case to be thrown out. Thoughts? What do you think of Harry’s statement?? Let us know (below)!
