Prince William reportedly requested Peter Phillips to stand between himself and brother Prince Harry during Prince Philip’s funeral, it has been claimed.

The Duke of Cambridge, 38, is said to have been left “incandescent” with rage over his 36 year old brother Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

And as the brothers reunited in public for the first time in more than a year, they walked either side of Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral at Windsor Castle on Saturday 17 April.

Following the emotional event, it has been claimed that the move was requested by the Duke of Cambridge, according to the Mail on Sunday.

When asked about the claim a friend of Prince Harry, who is said to have been under intense scrutiny at the funeral, told the publication: “He’s just doing what he's told and getting on with it.”

Meanwhile, a separate source also claimed the Duke of Sussex faced “a great deal of frostiness” from many of those in the Royal Family following his interview with Oprah.

They said: “Ironically the only one who has expressed any sympathy towards him is Prince Andrew.

“He knows from Sarah Ferguson – and now first-hand – how it feels to be the outsider, which Harry very much is.

“As far as the others are concerned, there is a deep sense of protection towards the Queen and resentment towards Harry. There is little sympathy for him after what he and Meghan said on Oprah.”

The insider continued: “They are still very upset. They are putting on a united front for the Queen. They all think he has behaved appallingly.”
