Prince William has been pictured breaking cover for the first time since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The 38 year old, whose interesting nickname for The Queen when he was younger was recently revealed, was spotted in the driver's seat of a car as he drove out of London.

The royal appeared stony faced as he donned a blue and white shirt underneath a dark-coloured jumper. He also wore a black and white polka dot face mask to ensure he keeps safe amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Prince William had one hand on the wheel and looked straight ahead in a bid to give away no emotions after the claims his brother made on TV.

It comes after his grandmother, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II broke her silence to address 36 year old Harry and his pregnant wife Meghan's sit down with chat show host Oprah, 67.

The 94 year old monarch said in a statement released on 9 March that she is "saddened" to hear of the couple's experience within the Royal Family.

"The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan," she wrote.

The Queen also addressed the race claims and said "some recollections may vary", as she continued: "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

"Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."

During the two hour interview, which first aired on CBS in the US before being televised on ITV on 8 March, Meghan and Harry spoke out about their difficult experience within the Royal Family.

In one of many shocking moments during the chat, Meghan, 39, claimed William's wife Kate Middleton made her cry.

Meghan opened up about reports of a rift between herself and the Duchess of Cambridge, also 39, and said the press wanted “a hero and a villain”.

The Duchess of Sussex, who also said she had suicidal thoughts during her time on the royal family, claimed that despite reports that Meghan was the one who drove Kate to tears days before her nuptials to Harry, it was in fact the other way around.

When asked by Oprah about the tabloids' claims Meghan had made Kate cry days before the royal wedding, Meghan said: “No, the reverse happened.”

She added that she “didn’t want to be disparaging to anyone“ but Kate was “upset about something“ over an issue with a flower girl dress.

Meghan said the timing of the issue was especially upsetting amid the uncertainty over whether her father Thomas Markle would attend the wedding. Meghan's father Thomas did not attend the wedding after reportedly having a heart attack.

She continued that it “didn’t make sense“ to not support her due in the days coming up to her wedding.

But, Meghan, who has been defended by her Suits co-star amid bullying claims, then said Kate “owned it and apologised” with a handwritten note and flowers.

She added that the Duchess of Cambridge “ took accountability“ after Meghan was brought to tears but insisted there was no confrontation between the pair.

Meghan also added that she will not go into to detail about it because Kate apologised.
