War: Anupria Goenka on her co-star Hrithik Roshan: I still blush everytime I talk to him – read EXCLUSIVE interview | Bollywood Life

Siddharth Anand’s War featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff has worked wonders at the box office. It has made some countless records and has turned out to be the second highest-grossing film of 2019. The action-entertainer also starred Vaani Kapoor and Anupria Goenka in key roles. Vaani played HR’s love interest whereas Anupria was seen playing an undercover agent in War. Her character, Aditi, teamed up with Hrithik (Kabir) and Tiger (Khalid) to nab one of the most wanted terrorists of the world. Anupria had an important part to play in the film and she felt really blessed to be part of Yash Raj Films’ War. This is her second film with the banner after Tiger Zinda Hai. In an exclusive chat with BollywoodLife, Anupria Goenka had so many things to speak about her experience.

Here are the excerpts from our conversation:

How are you enjoying the stupendous success of War? Did you expect this kind of response before the release?

I am really enjoying quite a bit, rather sinking in yet, as I’ve been busy with work so much. Utna sink in nahi hua hai but it’s a great feeling, a great, great feeling. We really expected it to do very well but no one imagined the film crossing Rs 100 crore so soon. But, yes we expected it to do very well as it’s one of a kind. To find Hrithik and Tiger, who are the best action heroes, fabulous dancers and best of the lot, in a film is a dream for the audience. So we were expecting that everyone would want it to see them together and the storyline is also amazing. The film is action-packed and it has been mounted on a big scale. Sometimes the story gets lost but this has been packaged really well. It has a lot of twists and turns and it is a really engaging film like a full entertainer. So you know, that way we were expecting it to be great.

You played a strong character in War. However, did you ever fear getting overshadowed by Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff?

See, at the end of the day for me it is a Hrithik-Tiger film, it is because of them that the audiences are coming to watch it. They have done a phenomenal job in the film. Their chemistry looks good on the screen because their bond is beautiful in real life. I felt good when people said that their vibe isn’t competitive although they are pitted against each other. They have collectively done good work. Although I have worked with them, my heart skips a beat whenever I see their scenes. I can totally relate to the audience, they’re so good looking and talented.

The kind of effort that they have put in for the action scenes is great. They’ve done it to perfection and their dance moves are so amazing. Their chemistry is good during emotional scenes as well. My favourite scene (Hrithik-Tiger) is when they have a face-off in the train before the interval. I never thought that I would get overshadowed but I was always aware of the fact that this is Hrithik sir and Tiger Shroff film. And that’s the reason the film is going to be a hit. I’m very thankful to Aditya sir, Yash Raj Films and Siddharth Anand for the fact that they gave me this character. I feel blessed, honoured to know that they had faith in me to pull off an important role.

What’s the best response you’ve received for your role till date?

I think, there are two most important and heart touching ones. First is when Hrithik sir took me aside one day when we were shooting for another scene. He must have seen my marriage sequence. He took me aside and personally said, ‘marriage sequence mein your expressions are really nice and that’s how the scene is working.’ That was a big compliment for me. Siddharth Anand has been very upfront and has always appreciated me about everything that I’ve done. He has told me a number of times that you are very good in the film. It’s like when a director praises you, there’s nothing else that you need. You know that’s the biggest compliment one can get. These two compliments have been very close to my heart.

Early on in your career, you have worked with Salman Khan (Tiger Zinda Hai) and Hrithik Roshan. Did you feel any kind of pressure while working with these superstars?

Obviously, there’s a bit of nervousness because I have admired them before I became an actor. I loved Salman Khan since Maine Pyaar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. To be able to stand in front of him and say dialogues, was a huge moment for me. Similarly, with Hrithik Roshan, I have admired him from Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and felt he is a fantabulous actor. He’s just so good looking. Your heart does flutter when you see him. I still blush every time I talk to him. You will feel blessed, there’s a hesitation but once you start acting, you forget everything else. Before and after shots, it is more uncomfortable and you start to wonder. However, once the camera rolls, everything paves away.

Is War 2 on cards?

I really hope so (there’s a sequel to the film). I hope that I am also a part of it.
