Bopanna in doubles semifinals

Bopanna and Shapovalov were given a walkover in the last eight in the ATP-1000 tennis tournament

Rohan Bopanna and Denis Shapovalov did not have to hit a ball to make the semifinals as the duo was given a walkover in the last eight by Benoit Paire and Stan Wawrinka in the $6,338, 885 ATP-1000 tennis tournament here.

Bopanna and Shapovalov were scheduled to play Robin Haase and Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands, who beat the Bryan twinsm Bob and Mike, 6-7(8), 7-6(5), 10-5 in their quarterfinal.

In the Challenger semifinals in Germany, second seeds Sriram Balaji and Vishnu Vardhan lost 6-4, 7-6(3) to Croatia’s Ivan Sabanov and Matej Sabanov.

In the $15,000 ITF women’s event in Nairobi, top seed Mahak Jain cruised into the final and will face the eighth-seeded Sada Nahimana of Burundi.
