Cong. plans booth-level meetings

The Delhi Congress will kick-start its preparation for the Assembly polls, scheduled early next year, by holding booth-level meetings in each of the 70 constituencies from October 9. The congress is yet to name a new head for its city unit.

The All India Congress Committee in-charge of the Delhu unit P.C. Chacko met district presidents on Friday and discussed election preparations.

Selecting a new chief

Mr. Chacko said he would meet interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the next few days.

“I expect that the name of the new Delhi Congress chief will be announced soon,” he added.

The Congress had managed to increase its vote share in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and pushed AAP to second place in five of the seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi.
