DDA portal for e-mutation of residential plots soon

Move to ensure transparency in the entire process

The Delhi Development Authority will launch a web portal to facilitate citizens apply online for mutation-related issues, senior DDA officials said on Thursday.

The portal that is likely to be launched soon is a move to ensure transparency, officials said.

“Earlier people had to physically approach the DDA and submit documents for mutation purposes. However, with the launch of the online portal, harassment to the general public will be reduced completely as they can apply for the process themselves and not wait for any other official,” said a senior DDA official.

While the pilot project which is to be launched will entail e-mutation of residential plots only, it would soon be extended for commercial plots as well, the official said.

“The website is ready and interested stakeholders can login directly and feed relevant data including the plot number and so on, and apply for the mutation process,” the official explained.

Senior officials of the urban body also added that depending on the success of the pilot project involving e-mutation of residential plots, further benefits like e-conversion of lease hold plots to free-hold plots will also be introduced.

Track files

“The point of launching an online portal is also to ensure transparency in the entire process. After submitting the application, the web portal will also help people track their files and keep a tab on the status of their applications,” the official said.

The urban body also said that the initiative is a part of its venture to go “paperless” where no “physical files” are required.

“This will ensure ease of accessibility and prevent fraud as their will be a centralised R&D facility and all records will be maintained in a centralised manner,” the DDA said.
