#DelhiRiots: Judge who warned Central Govt gets transferred

Justice Muralidhar, the third highest judge of the Delhi High Court who made critical comments on BJP leaders and Delhi Police, has been transferred to Punjab-Haryana High Court.

This transfer of Justice Muralidhar in midnight is inviting criticism and suspect to be an act of his comments. On the North-East Delhi clashes Muralidhar reacted quite harshly on the Delhi Police for being a spectator during the violent scenes. He directed the police officials to file FIR against BJP leaders who provoked the people to attack those protesting against Citizenship Amendment Act.

The notification on the transfer of Justice Muralidhar was issued around 11 pm on Wednesday night by the central government. But the notification did not mention any time-frame for when he should join the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

However, Justice Muralidhar was transferred to Punjab-Haryana High Court on February 12th based on recommendations of Supreme Court collegium. The Delhi High Court Bar Association had condemned the transfer of Justice Muralidhar and demanded the Supreme Court collegium to recall the move immediately.

With Justice Muralidhar getting transferred, the Delhi riots case is now listed before the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, Justice Dhirubhai Naranbhai Patel.
