Kejriwal lied about construction of 23 flyovers, claims Congress

‘AAP govt. did not build any new flyover except projects approved by previous govt.’

The Delhi Congress on Thursday accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of lying that his government had constructed 23 flyovers in the city. The Delhi Congress said that the AAP government had built no new flyovers and that only those projects that had been started by the Congress government when Sheila Dikshit was Chief Minister had been completed.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Jitender Kumar Kochar said “Kejriwal should be put to a “lie-detector test” for repeatedly mouthing blatant lies with the latest example being his claim of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi building 23 flyover during its four-and-a-half-year tenure though the fact is that it did not construct even a single flyover.”

Mr. Kochar said that all the flyover projects which were completed in the last four-and-a-half-years were started when the Congress government, led by Ms. Dikshit, was in power in Delhi. Reply to RTI queries submitted by Tej Pal Singh, a Congress party worker and an RTI activist, regarding the number of flyovers constructed by AAP government in Delhi shows that no new flyovers were built by the PWD during the tenure of the AAP government, he added.
