South Western Air Command chief visits stations in Mumbai

Assures Governer, CM of complete support in disaster relief

Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Air Command (SWAC), conducted a two-day operation preparedness inspection of Air Force stations located in Mumbai including HQ Maritime Air Operations, AFS Mumbai, Thane and Kanheri Hills.

Air Marshal H.S. Arora, AVSM ADC, also met Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The SWAC chief highlighted contemporary issues of the Indian Air Force pertaining to the State. He also assured complete support of IAF in case of any eventuality that requires humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) operations to be undertaken.

Meeting with WNC head

Air Marshal Arora also called on Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar P., PVSM AVSM VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Naval Command (WNC), during his visit. He also reviewed the guard of honour on his arrival at HQ WNC .

During their interaction, the two shared operational plans and discussed measures to further enhance jointmanship as well as integrated operations in the western seaboard.

During the visit to Air Force Stations in Mumbai area, Air Marshal Arora was briefed on activities undertaken by the station and their state of operational preparedness.

The Air Marshal appreciated the critical role played by each of the stations and exhorted the air warrior to continue their good work while remain ever vigilant towards base security.

Air Marshal Arora was accompanied by his wife, Baljeet Arora, President of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) (Regional), SWAC.

Ms. Arora visited the Air Force schools and various ventures being run by AFWWA (Locals).
