Students thrashed in bus

Pazhukal police have registered a case against a gang that thrashed a group of students in a running bus.

Police said students of a government-aided school at Kallupaalam used to complain about non-stopping of a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus being operated between Marthandam – Kulappaarai, at Kallupaalam. When a group of students asked the TNSTC bus driver and the conductor a couple of days ago about the reason behind not stopping the bus at Kalluppaalam, the duo reportedly abused them.

When the students boarded the bus in the stop next to Kalluppaalam on Friday evening, an alteration broke out between the conductor and the students. When the bus reached Idaicode, a gang entered the bus and thrashed the students in which eight of them sustained injuries. They are undergoing treatment in the Kuzhithurai Government Hospital.

Pazhukal police have registered a case.
