T & AP Lockdown: People Not Taking Curfew Seriously

In a bid to confine corona outbreak to the third stage itself, actually Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers of states have decided to impose a total lockdown. Other than some essential services, there will be no shops, establishments and offices opened. But how has the “Janata” taken it?

A while ago PM Narendra Modi tweeted in Hindi that people haven’t taken the imposed lockdown seriously and asked the police forces of the respective states to take strict measures. True to his words, many people are still wandering on roads, hanging with friends, enjoying their summer holidays though they are busy buying groceries and essentials on the other side. One wonders what makes people still not take social distancing and lockdown seriously.

Firstly most of the people in cities like Hyderabad are still thinking that COVID-19 scare is a hype being created by pharma companies but nothing else. Few elderly people are feeling that they have faced much more worse health emergencies even when there is no advancement of science, so corona can’t even touch their finger. If we have to go by analysis of popular epidemiologists, if lockdown and social distancing are not carefully followed, nearly 20 crores Indians will get affected in this health emergency.

Like how it happened in Italy and how it is happening in Spain, all the available hospitals, doctors, medicines, mortuaries and graveyards will not be sufficient to accommodate patients and their mortal remains. Much before things slip out to the worse, maybe Indians should wake up and stay alert. Stay home, stay safe.
