Ys Jagan To Launch Kia Cars On Aug 8

At the time when several corporate biggies are sceptical about investing in Andhra Pradesh, after the recent change in state government, the Korean carmaker Kia Motors is all set to launch its ‘Made in India’ on August 8th. Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been officially invited to this event.

In the past, YSR Congress Party attacked former CM Chandrababu for claiming credit in bringing Kia to Andhra. When in opposition, YSRCP has attributed Kia Motors establishment to Narendra Modi’s visit to South Korea in 2015. After coming to power, the state finance minister Buggana has read out a letter in assembly, which is from CEO of Kia Motors. With that letter, YSR Congress has made an attempt to attribute it to former United AP CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

After making an MOU with state government, Kia has started its first manufacturing unit in India in a 536-acre site in Anantapur district. This plant is aimed to manufacture 3 lakh cars every year. Just to remind you, Chandrababu Naidu unveiled and test drove the first KIA car at Anantapur plant earlier this year.

From 16th July, Kia has opened the bookings for ‘Kia Seltos’ and with the launch of their first car, the bookings may pick pace.
