Babu Forcing Korean Remakes On Young Directors

Senior producer Suresh Babu is these days moving heaven and earth to make sure that he produces at least 2-3 films in a year. But some unwanted script delays and issues during post-production have delayed his movies like Venky Mama and Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi. Due to that, he has come up with a new plan.

Rather wasting time on stories and scripting, Suresh has found the idea of buying rights of super hit Korean movies that will have an appeal to be remade and retold in the Telugu language. Firstly he brought Oh Baby the same way and now he got another Korean movie Midnight Runners being remade under Sudheer Varma’s direction. For Oh Baby too, he picked Nandini Reddy upon Samantha’s insistence.

The latest buzz has that Suresh acquired rights of another bunch of Korean movies and is making young and struggling directors work on them. Even though if a director approaches him with a new script, he’s said to be asking them to direct a Korean remake for him. That way Suresh wants to make sure that he will not waste years on treating a script.

However, young directors are said to be feeling the heat regarding this Korean remake thing as some of them are feeling that their original creativity is at risk if they take up this remake.
