Kasautii Zindagi Kay 2: ‘Had Parth Samthaan not decided to quit, Kasautii’s fate would have been different’

Ekta Kapoor’s iconic show from 2001, Kasautii Zindagii Kay was brought back with a new cast. Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 once again became the favourite of all. The Czarina of television came up with the second season of the show with Parth Samthaan as Anurag Basu and Erica Fernandes as Prerna Sharma. The show started off really well and was loved by the audience. Parth and Erica did a great job and even the other actors recreated the iconic characters well. However, the show was not as successful as the original one and will be ending on October 3. Aashish Bhardhwaj who had recently entered Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 as Mohnish spoke about his debut show ending soon. In an interview with ETimes he expressed his disappointment about the show going off-air really soon.

He said, “I was really excited about bagging a role in the most talked about serial Kasautii. However, the happiness was short-lived as only weeks after my entry, the show is coming to an end. But I am sure there will be something good in store for me.” The actor was asked what went wrong with the show and he said that it was the replacements in the show that let to the drop down of TRPs. He shared, “The show’s TRPs dipped as there were a few replacements initially like Aamna Sharriff replaced Hina Khan, who played the popular character of Komolika and then Karan Singh Grover was replaced by Karan Patel as Mr Bajaj. The key characters of the show got replaced, so this might be one of the reasons for the dip in the show’s popularity. And then, there was news of Parth Samthaan also quitting the show. Had all this not happened, I think it would have worked just like the original show which ran for several years. Also, had Parth not decided to quit, Kasautii’s fate would have been different.”

Aashish has also worked with Sushant Singh Rajput in an advertisement and shared his experience working with the late actor. He said, “I still remember shooting with him but that was just for a day. He was really energetic on the sets. He was really concerned about his work and we actually wrapped up the shoot in just six hours. He was really cordial with the spot boy. In fact, both of us interacted too and in between the shoot, he also gave me cues”
